Teaching children makes me happy! I absolutely love children! To me, there is no other job as rewarding as what I do. Any effective teacher or administrator that chooses this profession must love children and cherish each and every little person. Children are gifts from God, and I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to watch them grow academically, spiritually, emotionally, socially and physically. After all, they are our future. As educators, we must strive to offer an education that not only helps these children develop into productive citizens, but we must also provide an environment that nurtures the mind and the heart. It is my job as an administrator to relate to each and every child and develop a relationship that will enable me to encourage them to be the best they can be and that will foster honesty and trust in good times as well as bad.

Leaders have followers. I know the way I work with my followers is important. The worst possible situation for any leader is for his/her vision for the school to remain a dream. As an administrator, I feel that it is my responsibility to support my teachers so that they can achieve their own objectives as well as the school's objectives. I feel that it is also my job to motivate them to do more than they originally expected to do. As an effective leader, I must be open to new ideas and ways of thinking that might strengthen our curriculum. Communication between the school and the parents is another responsibility of an effective leader. It is my belief that education is a partnership between the school and the parents.

In closing, the following quote summarizes my philosophy of leadership. "Leadership is not about who's smarter or tougher but about qualities such as motivating power, empathy, integrity, and intuitive abilities, which fall within the domain of emotional intelligence."

Lee Academy continues to be a wonderful place for children to begin their educational journey. I am so very thankful to be a part of this school and to have my life enriched by these children.

Message from the Headmaster

Lee Academy, a college preparatory school, provides an educational environment of excellence with high academic and behavioral standards. The vision of Lee Academy is to build the bridge to each student's future by nurturing the growth of the student with regard to individual needs and abilities in an atmosphere of warmth and caring and to develop strong character in each student by teaching principles of self-discipline, respect for authority, patriotism, a love of learning and reverence for God.

Lee Academy believes that the overall purpose of education is to develop students physically, intellectually, morally, spiritually, socially, and emotionally. We believe it is the responsibility of the school to guide, discipline, counsel, and instruct students so that their capabilities and interests develop to an optimum degree in order for them to take their places in society as responsible adult citizens. The student also shares in the responsibility for his education by his participation, cooperation, involvement, and hard work.

The Mississippi Association of Independent Schools and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools accredit Lee Academy. Lee offers K-3 through the 12th grade and welcomes students currently from Coahoma, Tunica, Quitman, Tallahatchie, Sunflower, and Bolívar counties.

We welcome you to Lee Academy and invite you to become a member of our family.

Website Re-Designed

As you can see we have completely redesigned our website.   Our new site allows us complete control to add new content at anytime and from any computer.

Some of the new features include photo galleries for student activites and events, as well as, photo galleries for all sports.  We invite parents and students to send us your digital images of Lee Academy events.  We do require that all images have a descriptive name, i.e "JH boys track 21" and that you resize your images to a maximum 640 pixels wide.  Images should be emailed to schnadm56@att.net .

Another feature is two online calendars, one for academic events and the other for sports.  These calendars allow you to subscribe to one or both and choose to be notified of events by email, text message or both.  Email notification will be sent 24 hours prior and text messages 1 hour prior to the event.

The map to the school has also been updated and allows visitors to easily map their drive to Lee Academy.

We encourage our alumni to sign up for our special email message list by going to the ALUMNI section, click on REGISTER FOR EMAIL MESSAGES and fill-out the form.  You will not be flooded with email but periodically we will send mesages about important events or activities at Lee Academy.

Another feature that is available is LIVE Internet broadcasts.  We now have the ability to broadcast over the Internet virtually every school event, both at home and away.  All that is required is an inexpensive camera, a laptop, an Internet connection and a volunteer.   Events that are broadcast LIVE are immediately archived on the server and available for playback at anytime from any computer and in some cases your Smartphone.  This can be a great fundraiser with real value to the sponsors.
