Teachers and administrators have an opportunity that most careers do not. We have an opportunity to mold kids into lifelong learners and thinkers. A good educator, whether a classroom teacher or administrator, must be a person who loves children and knows they are truly a gift from God. If we feel this way, we will love our work and strive to be a difference maker for the students. We should understand that each student is an individual and focus on the nurturing of his mind and his heart. Our job is not just to teach but to mold each student into good citizens and children of God.
As an administrator, I feel that I am only as smart as my supporting cast. I try to find the perfect fit for the job, the teachers who love kids, are knowledgeable in the subject area, and want to make a difference. Then I try to do everything in my power to support them and encourage them to keep their classrooms full of excitement, adventure, and learning. I believe administrators should be the link between parents and school, to challenge students to reach their potential, and constantly to find new ways to meet the challenges of the world. I try to develop a relationship with each teacher and student so they will all know they are important. Lee Academy is a very important part of my life, and I consider it a blessing to work at the school where I graduated.
